Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and CrushVerse ("CrushVerse", "we", "us", "our") and govern your use of the CrushVerse mobile app and the website at crushverse.app (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to ourPrivacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

CrushVerse is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to use the Service. We ask for your date of birth during onboarding and rely on your answer. If we learn that a user is under 18 we will close the account and delete its data. You must also not be barred from using the Service under the laws of any applicable jurisdiction.

2. Your account

  • You sign in with a Google or Apple account. You are responsible for keeping that account secure and for all activity under your CrushVerse account.
  • One person, one account. Do not share your account or use someone else's.
  • Provide accurate information, including your date of birth. Do not impersonate anyone.
  • Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
  • You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab. See section 7 for what happens to hearts and section 6 for subscriptions.

3. What CrushVerse is — and is not

CrushVerse is interactive fiction. Characters are generated by artificial intelligence. They are not real people, they have no feelings, and every message, story, image, and voice clip they produce is computer-generated content. The app tells you this when you start, and you acknowledge it by using the Service.

AI output can be inaccurate, inconsistent, or inappropriate despite our safeguards. Nothing a character says is factual information or advice — medical, legal, financial, psychological, or otherwise — and you should not rely on it as such.

CrushVerse is entertainment, not a mental-health service, therapy, or crisis support. If you are in distress or thinking about harming yourself, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line; the app will surface local crisis resources if a conversation suggests you may need them.

The Service is "fade to black": it does not contain sexually explicit text or imagery, and characters will redirect conversations that push past that line. Our content standard is the same on every platform.

4. Content rules and acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to create, request, share, or publish content that:

  • is sexually explicit, or depicts or sexualises anyone who is, appears to be, or is described as under 18 — including characters whose age is ambiguous;
  • depicts non-consensual sexual activity, incest, bestiality, or sexual violence;
  • portrays a real person — public figure or private individual — without their consent, or uses a real person's name, likeness, or voice;
  • promotes or glorifies self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, or substance abuse;
  • is hateful, harassing, or threatening toward any person or group, including on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality;
  • promotes violence, terrorism, or illegal activity;
  • infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights;
  • contains malware, spam, or deceptive material.

You also agree not to:

  • attempt to bypass content safeguards, daily limits, paywalls, heart accounting, or any other restriction;
  • reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the Service, its prompts, models, or data, or use automated tools to access it;
  • use the Service to build a competing product or to train machine-learning models;
  • resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or any content from it;
  • interfere with the Service or its infrastructure, or probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission;
  • use the Service in a way that violates any applicable law.

We use automated screening and human review to enforce these rules. We may remove content, reject or unpublish a character, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts for violations, with or without notice. You can report a character or block a creator from inside the app; reports are reviewed and the reporter is never revealed.

5. Your content and characters

Ownership. You keep whatever rights you have in the messages you write, the characters you create, and images you upload ("Your Content"). You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to share it and that it follows section 4.

Licence to us. To run the Service we need your permission to store, process, reproduce, modify, and display Your Content. You grant CrushVerse a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to do so for the purpose of operating, securing, and improving the Service and enforcing these Terms. We do not use Your Content for advertising or sell it, and we do not use it to train AI models. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in routine backups (purged within 90 days), public characters that other users have already started relationships with (see below), and where we must keep it for legal reasons.

Public characters. If you set a character to public, you grant other users a licence to chat with it and CrushVerse a licence to display its profile, avatar, and your display name in the app. Other users' conversations with your character are theirs and private to them; you cannot see them. If you later make the character private or delete it, it disappears from Explore, but users who already have a relationship with it may keep it. Public characters must pass our screening before they appear and can be removed at our discretion.

Generated content. Text, images, and audio the Service generates for you ("Output") may be used by you for personal, non-commercial purposes. Because AI systems can generate similar output for different users, we cannot promise Output is unique and you may not claim exclusive rights in it. You may not present Output as human-made, as depicting a real person, or in any way that violates section 4.

Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

6. Subscriptions

  • Free tier. You can use CrushVerse without paying. The free tier has limits — for example a daily message allowance and a small monthly heart grant — which we may adjust. Ending a free user's day early because a limit was reached is not a fault in the Service.
  • Paid plans. A CrushVerse subscription is offered monthly and annually and unlocks the benefits shown on the purchase screen at the time of purchase (for example unlimited messages, permanent memory, voice, and a monthly heart grant). Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you buy and may differ by region.
  • Billing. Subscriptions are purchased through, and billed by, the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms. We do not process payments directly and never see your payment details.
  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your store account is charged at renewal.
  • Cancelling. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the app or your CrushVerse account does not cancel a subscription. After cancelling, you keep paid benefits until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • When a subscription ends. Nothing is deleted. Your relationships, memories, illustrations, and album stay intact. Free-tier limits apply again, the monthly heart grant stops, and any purchased hearts remain.
  • Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, since they process the payment. We cannot issue refunds for store purchases ourselves, but we will help if a purchase did not unlock what it should have — use Restore purchases in Settings first, then contact us.
  • Price changes. If we change a subscription price, we will notify you in advance through the store and the change applies from your next renewal, after any consent the store requires.
  • No trials. We do not currently offer free trials. The free tier is the way to try the Service.

7. Hearts

  • Hearts are a virtual currency used inside CrushVerse to pay for generated media — story illustrations, character portraits, and voiceover. Hearts never buy messages, memory, or anything text-based.
  • Hearts come from a monthly grant (included with your plan) or from heart packs bought through the App Store or Google Play. Grant hearts are spent first. Grant hearts reset to your plan's monthly amount on each refresh date and do not carry over; purchased hearts never expire while your account exists.
  • Heart prices for each media type are shown before you confirm. You are never charged for a generation that fails.
  • Hearts are a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use a feature of the Service. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money or transferred to anyone, and are not refundable except as required by law or by the store's refund policy. Hearts are forfeited if you delete your account or if your account is terminated for violating these Terms.
  • We may change heart costs, pack sizes, and grant amounts. Changes do not affect hearts you have already purchased.

8. Intellectual property

The Service — including the app, website, CrushVerse characters, stories, artwork, voices, names, logos, design, software, and prompts — is owned by CrushVerse or its licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Subject to these Terms we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use. No other rights are granted. "CrushVerse" and the CrushVerse logo are our trademarks.

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email[email protected] with the work, the infringing material, your contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is unauthorised. We will remove infringing content and may terminate repeat infringers.

9. Third-party services

The Service depends on third parties — AI model providers, Apple, Google, RevenueCat, and hosting providers. Their terms apply to your use of their services (for example the Apple Media Services Terms or Google Play Terms of Service for purchases). We are not responsible for third-party services, and an outage at a provider may temporarily affect the Service.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, remove content, or refuse service if you violate these Terms, if required by law, if your conduct risks harm to other users or to us, or if we discontinue the Service. Where reasonable we will tell you why. Termination for a violation forfeits hearts and unused subscription time without refund, except where the law requires otherwise. Sections 5, 8, and 11–17 survive termination.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CRUSHVERSE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, THAT AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, APPROPRIATE, OR CONSISTENT, OR THAT DATA WILL NEVER BE LOST. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE EXCLUSIONS, SO SOME MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU; NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS CONSUMER RIGHTS THAT CANNOT BE WAIVED.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CRUSHVERSE AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR EMOTIONAL DISTRESS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR ITS CONTENT, HOWEVER CAUSED AND UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE AND (B) USD $50. THIS SECTION DOES NOT EXCLUDE LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, FRAUD, OR ANY LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CrushVerse from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or of any law or third-party right. This does not apply where the law prohibits it for consumers.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which CrushVerse is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction whose law gives you the right to bring claims at home, you keep that right and the mandatory consumer protections of your country continue to apply.

Before filing a claim, please contact us at [email protected]. Most issues can be resolved quickly and informally, and we will try to do so within 30 days. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.

15. Additional terms for Apple users

If you use CrushVerse on an Apple device, the following also applies:

  • These Terms are between you and CrushVerse only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
  • Your licence to the app is limited to a non-transferable licence to use it on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
  • If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
  • CrushVerse, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and consumer protection claims.
  • CrushVerse, not Apple, is responsible for investigating and resolving any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights.
  • You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

16. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We are constantly improving CrushVerse and may add, change, or remove features, limits, and prices. We may also update these Terms. For material changes we will give notice in the app at least 14 days before they take effect, unless the change is needed sooner for legal or safety reasons. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the new Terms; if you do not, stop using the Service and delete your account.

17. General

  • Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and CrushVerse about the Service.
  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • No waiver. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms. We may assign them to a successor of the Service.
  • Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
  • Language. These Terms are written in English. Translations are for convenience; the English version controls.
